January 6-27, and April 7-27, 2025

We want to give a warm welcome to Sidi Chen, who will be activating the FLEET: Edmonds studio during January and April 2025.  Sidi’s project at FLEET has two parts; in the winter they will invite the public to contribute rain vessels for a sound walk and recording project, and in the spring they will hold workshops creating home-made chalk using eggshells for a community mapping project.

Sidi Chen (MFA) is a diasporic queer artist who inquires the relational aesthetics through performance, media arts, and other interdisciplinary practices. Through their research across arts, natural science, and community development, Chen imagines alternative relations and perspectives with the world through mediations by bodily mobility and empathy. Sidi Chen is currently working as a practicing artist and an independent arts administrator on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim speaking peoples, known as Burnaby, BC.
