Community Centre Pop-Up with Sidi Chen

Edmonds-area artist Sidi Chen will be hosting a pop-up table at the Edmonds Community Centre to demonstrate their art practice which incorporates hydro-recording techniques. They will showcase different sound samples of their latest project that utilizes the sound of raindrops recorded in various water containers. Community members are encouraged to bring/drop off their own water vessels.
Sidi Chen (MFA) is a diasporic queer artist who inquires the relational aesthetics through performance, media arts, and other interdisciplinary practices. Through their research across arts, natural science, and community development, Chen imagines alternative relations and perspectives with the world through mediations by bodily mobility and empathy. Sidi Chen is currently working as a practicing artist and an independent arts administrator on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim speaking peoples, known as Burnaby, BC.
